Bay Area Getaway 2009

Our (brief... all TOO brief) jaunt through the Bay Area last month. Took the red-eye on NWA arriving in SFO arriving ay 7am. Picked up the rental car and immediately headed to the Ferry Building Marketplace. Why the Marketplace? Because we were headed to the Pigs & Pinot event in Mill Valley and needed to find produce and swine (and wine) for the event. Of course man (and woman) does not live by cooking and purchasing alone... you need to fuel the furnace to engage in these endurance events so it was first off to Market Bar to "break" the fast of the red-eye flight.

Can't spend the whole day at Hog Island Oyster Co but I still HAVE to indulge (along with a glass of Ruggeri prosecco). Six beauties on the half shell:

The Mrs opted for Dungeness crab deviled eggs... Hey, it's breakfast isn't it? And aren't eggs breakfast food?

The Mrs sunny sides and Zoe's bacon with Rosti potatoes and toast:

My chorizo hash and sunny sides... love dippin' toast in those yellow orbs of beauty...

Now time to peruse the Saturday Farmers Market...
