Dinner at The Tavern at Lark Creek

Of course, we were still recovering from Pigs & Pinot on Saturday night then Sunday lunch at Buckeye Roadhouse so what's a guy to do in the evening? Have dinner of course! Only 36 hours into the vacation and I feel like I need elastic waist pants! So where to? How about The Tavern at Lark Creek. It was formerly known as the Lark Creek Tavern but they revamped the menu (and the name).

And since we were Pinot'd out from the previous evening, what to drink? Pinot Noir of course! (almost sounding like Bill Murray's Groundhog Day movie). Williams Selyem still makes great Pinot even with the departure of the 2 principals. Balanced fruit, acid and earth with a nice perfume to the nose.

We started with the Bellwether Farms Ricotta, DaVero Olive Oil, Oregano, Lemon Zest with Crostini. The creaminess of the ricotta, crunchiness of the crostini and zip from the oregano and lemon zest. I could have had another plate for dinner and would've been a happy camper.

The Mrs and Bro both had the Fresh Egg Pappardelle with Bolognese, Pecorino and Oregano. Just like a deconstructed lasagna.

Sis-n-law had Mary's Organic Chicken Breast with Romano Beans, Pancetta, Tomatoes and Anson Mills Polenta. She consumed more this time as opposed to bling watching. The polenta was very creamy... no, make that CREAMY!

I opted for a healthier meal so I had the Fresh Whole Wheat Rigatoni with Chanterelle Mushrooms, Brussels Sprout Leaves, Double Smoked Bacon and Goat Cheese Gouda... ok, disregard the bacon and gouda and it's kinda healthy...

So what do you do after stuffing your face for the past 36 hours. Dream of tomorrow's meals of course!
