Still trying to make space for the new arrivals in the next 2 weeks so uncorked a 2004 Aubert Ritchie Vineyard Chardonnay. Loads of stone fruit, lemon/citrus curd, mineral and new oak on the nose with a rich mouth feel but balancing fruit and acidity and seamless on the palate with a long finish. Had it with assorted Shirokiya bento. The Chef's special which had sweet-sour pork, shrimp and broccoli stir fry, crispy shrimp and veggie stir fry (I loved the smokiness of the veggies)
A mixed onigiri bento with various mochi rice onigiri - the mixed mountain vegetable was the best
And rafute in buns ala Peking duck.
A great way to end the week and start the weekend...
