We had a farewell blast for one of the original Vino servers, Mr Sefo. Not that he's leaving the island or anything. He's simply trading his Vino black for Morton's black just down Ala Moana Boulevard. Of course we probably won't see him much since I've only been to Morton's once and that was many moons ago when they first opened.
I started with the Cheese and Salumi Platter
And the Mrs had to have her Duo of Contemporary Sushi
We started with a bottle of 2004 Nickel and Nickel Darien Vineyard Syrah
Then moved on to 2005 Tom Eddy Oregon Pinot Noir
And sampled the Kabocha and Molokai Sweet Potato Ravioli
Then a 2003 Cliff Lede Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon
Then a 2006 2480 Cabernet Sauvignon
And a 1994 Chateau La Fleur de Gay Pomerol
Along with the Braised Tongue with Red Risotto and Pickled Vegetables
The Smoked Beef Brisket with Herb Roasted Potatoes
And the Grilled Marinated Flank Steak with Baby Arugula
Then a 2006 Jadot Pommard 1er Cru Clos de la Commaraine
And a 1995 Jobard Blagny La Piece Sous le Bois
Finally ending with Champagne
Chuck also uncorked one of my favorites, a magnum of 1993 Noel Verset Cornas (he even gave me a glass to take home and it didn't spill on the drive home)
And a 1995 Sottimano Curra Vigna Masue Barbaresco
A great send-off for Sefo! Keep pourin' those wines and occasionally wear those stylish chapeau and you can't go wrong!
