Okay, so this is another restaurant I had on my punchlist of "to dine" at locations while in Seattle. It wasn't exactly dinner but we only were in the city for 3 whole days and I did have 5 restaurants on the punchlist. What I didn't realize was that Trace was part of the W Hotel in Seattle. Not that it really mattered because the food wasn't like your typical hotel restaurant food.
I selected the Rustic Corned Beef Hash with Crispy Poached Eggs. Crispy poached eggs? They were actually poached eggs rolled in panko and quickly deep fried. The corned beef was as tender as corned beef gets and it was served with a spicy red pepper sauce.
The Mrs selected the Market Gathered Omelet filled with fresh produce and it had a sheen not unlike a perfect crepe or sushi tamago with not trace of browning. Just perfect lemon yellow.
I also ordered a side of the Tillamook Cheddar Biscuits and the Mrs had a side of Zoe's Country Ham
I also tried my hand at an artsy photo of our table reflected off of the deco chrome lighting globes... okay, I won't quit my day job to delve into photography...
But the next time we're in Seattle, I will attempt to dine at Trace for dinner to sample the Crispy Egg and Foraged Mushrooms or the Blue Bird Grain Farro Salad or the Carlton Farms Braised Pork Cheeks...
