Breakfast @ The Whole Ox Deli

So what do you immediately do after returning from a 1 week vacation eating and drinking like there's no tomorrow. Why, pig out again the very next morning! We actually arrived home a little after midnight and decided to let the laundry wait until the next morning. After starting 1 load, getting the accumulated mail from the Post Office and do our early voting, we headed to The Whole Ox Deli for breakfast. Mainly because our last meal in Seattle was almost 24 hours earlier and because we can't make breakfast on weekdays and Saturday mornings are cardio days and Whole Ox closes breakfast service at 10:45am sharp! We just made it with about 15 minutes to spare on this day. And since we're hungry and who knows when we'll make it back again for breakfast, the 2 of us ordered 3 full breakfast selections.

I started with the Biscuits and Gravy with Sausage. Four large house made pork sausages on a biscuit in cream gravy. My only critique is that it could've used a little more gravy. But excellent sausages!

The Mrs sampled the Smoked Pork Hash. Shredded smoked pork with small cubed potato hash and two poached eggs...

I also had my eye on the Beets and Greens Hash so I dug into that after the Biscuits and Gravy. I love Chef McGee's roasted baby beets. Add some greens, potatoes and poached eggs and you have a great breakfast number 2!

After the locust swarm...

Now on to HASR Wine Co and Marukai for additional "shopping". Of course, since Lucky Belly is right around the corner from HASR Wine Co, the Mrs ordered a take-out of their Belly Bowl. I guess she didn't get to sample a lot of the Biscuits and Gravy or Beets and Greens Hash. We sampled the Belly Bowl that afternoon as an early dinner.

After the shiru is added...

Of course, now we GOTTA try the rest of the stuff on Lucky Belly's menu...
