Dining in Kakaako

We had a simple dinner of dogs and fries at Hank's Haute Dogs... or so I thought. The afternoon started with a little bubbly, a bottle of Paul Bara Brut Reserve Grand Cru.

The afternoon sun was still beatin' down on us so we had to have another cold refreshment, a 1992 Henri Goutoube Collection Rene which spent 17 years on the lees!

We then started with our "haute" dogs including a Chorizo with brown mustard and grilled onions.

And a Chicago with the works (minus the hot peppers).

We also sampled an order of the regular French Fries with garlic aioli.

And the Duck Fat Fries which were extra crispy!

And an order of Onion Rings.

And since it was E's birthday, Hank himself created a Jersey hoagie!

We also uncorked a 2010 Lucy Rose of Pinot Noir.

And a 2008 Les Granges des Peres Rouge

Of course since Taste Table featured the Pig and the Lady, the girls moseyed over to order the limited Ahi Belly with grapes, avocado and preserved lemon.

Aji Sashimi with ginger, clementine and cilantro.

Roasted Brisket with cabbage and apple.

Lamb Pasta with dates, rose water and sumac.

Carbonara with lup cheong and Parmesan broth.

And Vit Nau Chao or duck broth with pai'ai and vermicelli noodles.

With a bottle of 2009 Tyler Zotovich Vineyard Chardonnay.

Y-chan provided dessert in the form of macaroons.

And to top it off, brother Alex and the kitchen staff even delivered our Pig and the Lady order to Hank's... while Hank was there seated with us! Needless to say, I was stuffed to the gills by the time our dinner ended. But, it was only 7:30pm so we finished at Vino for a nightcap with a bottle of Alta Maria Pinot Noir.

And low and behold, S shows up at Vino looking for Mr Chuck (who was hosting a Dead Liver Society dinner at DK Steakhouse) so he uncorks a 1987 Clape Hermitage which was intended for Chuck.

So this evening probably set a record for us. Two locations and three meals... well kinda, but normally I would've rolled myself home after the second meal...
