We decided to take a break for 1 day and had a home cooked meal instead of the furious restaurant reservations these past several days. Of course you need some bubbly so a 2002 Paul Bara Milliseme Brut was first uncorked.
To pair with a salumi platter
A cheese platter
My "famous" smoked ahi spread
Dolmas (okay, it's from Costco)
With homemade tzatziki sauce (part of the dolmas is homemade)
My other "famous" lentil salad
And heirloom tomato caprese
Stuffed mushrooms
And Bleu cheese and mango salsa flatbread
With a 1995 Jobard La Piece Sous le Bois Blagny
Along with a 1998 Terreus
For the Kim Chi Sirloin Flap Steak with Romesco sauce
And a salt and vinegar Spanish tortilla. I got the recipe from the blog site SeriousEats. It actually uses potato chips instead of fresh potatoes and it was pretty tasty!
We also had a 2004 Seps Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
Finishing with peaches in Nivole and a Krug Rose
Okay, it was a mish mash of dishes (but I did have a mini Spanish theme with the entree and wine) but food and wine is secondary to breaking bread with great friends!
