Since it's been over a year since we last visited 12th Avenue Grill and they recently moved into their new digs at the old Victoria Inn, we decided it was time for a revisit. We met the S's and started with cocktails. I had to sample the Ham-Hattan since it was made with bacon infused Old Overholt rye whiskey and maple syrup.
The Mrs selected the Hibiscus Rose with hibiscus infused vodka, St Germain and rose water with Prosecco.
While K had The "True" Apple-tini with Clear Creek apple brandy, Big Island cinnamon-apple bitters and local honey.
D then uncorked a bottle of 2005 Beaux Freres Pinot Noir
For the special Big Island Beet Gnocchi with bleu cheese
The other special Duck Three Ways with skewer grilled duck gizzards and hearts, duck skin crackling and duck fat vinaigrette
Along with the ABCLT or wedge lettuce topped with avocado, bacon, cheese and tomatoes
We then ordered a bottle of 2012 Lieu Dit Cabernet Franc
For the Sunday Special Dinner or smoked beef brisket, black eyed peas, green bean casserole, cornbread and chocolate cake for two.
The special Beer Braised Lamb Shank on spinach
And the Roasted Chicken
The girls had the chocolate cake dessert as part of the Sunday Special but also sampled the Apple Crisp
And Sorbet
While I sipped my Calvados
Another good meal with great friends! 12th Avenue Grill now has an upscale vibe and it does get a little loud but the food is as good as ever so we'll be back.
