Lunch @ Boca Pizzeria

Since we had to meet my older Bro on Sunday afternoon to take us to dinner in Berkeley, I decided to postpone the Mrs' visit to the Westfield Centre for the next day (especially since a Monday would likely be less crowded). So we did our double duty (visiting The Village at Corte Madera and Town Center Corte Madera) on Sunday morning. The Village does have a Crate and Barrel which still hasn't set foot in the 50th and the Town Center has a Sur la Table (again, still not in the 50th) plus an REI and two of our favorite "drooling" spots - A.G. Ferrari and Bryan's Market. By the time the Mrs was done at The Village, I was beginnin' to hear some stomach rumblin' so I told her we should get some grub since dinner wasn't until 6:30pm. So before headin' to Town Center, we decided to check out the menu at Boca Pizzeria since it seemed like a new joint. Menu looks good, check. They have an open table, check. Let's have lunch!

And once again, we're on vacation so let's start with a cocktail. A non-alcoholic sparkling cider for the Mrs.

And a Basil Gimlet for me.

The Mrs then starts with a cup of Tuscan White Bean and Kale Soup ($4)

And a plate of Grilled Baby Octopus ($10) with arugula and lime-cilantro vinaigrette for me. Very tender with a vinaigrette almost like the marinating liquid of ceviche.

And since we're eating "light", the Mrs selects the Boca Salad ($10) with field greens, chicken, walnuts, pears, apples and a goat cheese crostini.

While I opt for the Roast Leg of Lamb Salad ($11) with arugula, radicchio, potatoes, cipollinis, fruit chutney and a pomegranate reduction. Nice tender morsels of lamb on bitter greens with that sweet pomegranate reduction and fruit chutney...

Along with a side of Brussel Sprouts ($6) with pancetta and Pecorino.

With a glass of 2009 Rue Boucher Syrah blend - once again from a tap system to reduce excess bottles and preserve wine freshness. The 50th needs to start using this system to malama the aina!

We actually were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food since it was "mall" food and they did have an extensive wine list. Oh well, lose an A.G. Ferrari and a Bryan's Market (which we later found out are no longer open at Town Center) but gain a pizzeria. I guess in retail, the only constant is change...
