Christmas Eve dinner @ Vino

Since Vino offered their special Christmas menu on both the Eve and Day and because we had to do our annual gift drop for Vino's staff who are almost like family to us and because there wasn't a table available this evening until 7:30pm (way past Mom's bedtime), we decided to sample the Christmas menu on the Eve.

Because the Mrs has been under-the-weather, only I started with a glass of wine...

We both sampled the special menu with one exception, their usual special menu offered Oven Roasted King Crab with a konbu miso butter, basil and chili flakes... I love me some easily accessible crab legs...

We then proceeded with the main menu starting with the Ahi Crudo with truffle oil, tobiko, ogo and pickled Maui onion... served with Skouras "Zoe"...

Then the Seafood Sausage with Hauula tomato, pickled red cabbage and lemon caper beurre blanc...

Then the Smoked Organic Chicken Ravioli with creamy garlic pesto, sun-dried tomatoes and toasted pine nuts... served with Falesco Umbria Merlot...

Followed by the King Natural Dry Aged Rib Eye with sweet potato gratin, charred Brussels sprouts and peppercorn demi for the Mrs...

And the Grilled Tai Snapper on pesto-sun dried tomatoes, fresh linguini and truffled beurre blanc for me... served with Sella Mosca Vermentino di Sardegna...

Ending with the Kula Strawberry Panna Cotta and Chocolate Gelato with mango coulis...

We then settled our bill then proceeded to play Santa passing out gifts to the Vino staff including a cocktail for most of the servers in a double walled stainless flask with instructions to indulge after either shaking it like a martini or simply serving it on the rocks. We even returned home a little after 9:00pm... unheard of for any visit to Vino. Anyway, to you and yours, have a Merry Christmas!!
