On a day to remember and honor those who have served and sacrificed all, we often take for granted those who have paid the ultimate cost for freedom. Unfortunately, Memorial Day is often seen simply as that three day weekend heralding summer's arrival with barbecues and merriment and we lose sight of the day's significance.
On this day, I remember and honor a classmate and friend who paid that ultimate price while serving as an Arny surgeon in Iraq, LTC Mark D. Taylor.
