Dual Birthday Celebration @ Senia's Private Dining Room

We recently were invited to a dual birthday celebration at Senia in their private dining room. I knew that they had a private dining room but I couldn't figure out how to get to it. As it turns out, the door right behind the hostess station immediately turns left to take you to two studio apartments. Att the top of the stairway you'll find two doors... the left door is labeled "Private" because that's where Senia Co-Owner and Chef Anthony Rush and his wife, GM Katherine Nomura-Rush reside. The right door leads to the private dining room - because it was actually a studio apartment it houses a full sink, range and refrigerator along with the wine storage room for Senia.

We started with a little bubbly...

Then canapes including the "Poke" Cracker...

Chicken Liver Mousse...

And Kalua Pork and Cabbage Croquettes...

Along with several more wines...

Moving on to the Hirabara Farms Baby Greens...

Charred Cabbage...

Bone Marrow Custard with Beef Cheek Marmalade...

And Cavatelli with pork and fennel ragu...

With more wines...

Then the OK Farm Egg... some diners also opted for the Australian truffle...

Then the Ono Wellington...

Glazed Pork Belly...

And the "Pastrami Spice" Short Rib...

With Potato Puree and Maitake Mushroom...

With of course... more wine...

Finishing with the Senia Cookie - peanut butter, toffee and Valrhona chocolate...

And Brown Butter Ice Cream...

Dinner as usual was great (we've been to both the main restaurant and the Chef's Table at Senia and Chefs Kajioka and Rush have never disappointed us with any of their creations.

Well, Happy Birthday J and V and wishing both of you many more...
