Lunch @ the Nordstrom Bar



We splurged on the Vieux Telegraphe La Crau tasting at the Hawaii Food and Wine Festival which was at 10:30am last Saturday so when it concluded, I decided to let the Mrs decide where she wanted to have lunch. She chose Ruscello at Nordstrom... Ohhh, at least a 35 minute wait...

So we simply went down the escalator to the Bar... which offered a wide selection of munchies... PLUS cocktails...


So I started with the Absinthe-Minded with Templeton rye, St George absinthe, Hendricks gin and Luxurdo cherry syrup... almost like a Sazerac...


While the Mrs selected the Mon Ami with pineapple rum, Espolon blanco tequila, fresh lime juice, coconut puree and fresh mint... it was like a refreshing pina colada not as heavy on the coconut...


We then sampled the Ahi Tuna Poke with perfectly cut cubes of ahi... no sinews showing!



The Roasted Mushroom Bruschetta...


And the Comte and Proscuitto Grilled Cheese... the tomato jam made this sandwich!...


I finished lunch with another cocktail, the Hummingbird with Sombra mezcal, Espolon silver tequila, pineapple and lime juice, agave syrup and club soda... nice and smoky balanced bu citrus...


While the Mrs sampled the Pumpkin Mousse with candied pecans and maple whip cream...

The Norstrom Bar has become one of our go-to places for both cocktails and food when we're at Ala Moana...
