Lunch @ Livestock Tavern

Because the Mrs worked the weekend, today was her only day off for the whole 3-day... So after meeting a friend who's looking at property right now, we went to Livestock Tavern for lunch. I thought that because of the holiday, it would be packed at 12:30pm. Not really so we took a table in the bar.

I started with a My Grandmother was Dutch ($10) with Bol's Genever, Damrak gin, Crème de Violette, Dolin Blanc and Fee Bros orange bitters... a little sweet and a nice way to start lunch...

While the Mrs sampled the Candy Gram for Mongo ($12) with Bib and Tucker bourbon, tea infused grappa, Teapot bitters and turmeric cordial... a lot sweeter than my cocktail, maybe even too sweet for the Mrs...

We then sampled the Grilled Spanish Octopus, Artichoke Hearts and Sausage on Romesco with very tender chinks of octopus...

And the Grilled Peach and Tomato Salad with Burrata... As soon as I saw peaches, I knew the Mrs HAD to sample it... slight char on the peaches and ripe tomatoes...

Along with a side order or frites...

I then sampled A Wed Wose ($12) with mango infused Mezcal, Ancho Reyes liqueur, grapefruit cordial, avocado and fresh lime juice... a very "summery" refreshing libations...

While the Mrs selected the Breckenridge Old Fashioned ($16) with Livestock Tavern Select Breckenridge Bourbon, Angostura bitters and maple syrup... she enjoyed it with our mains including the...

Lamb Shank Pasta with tagliatelle and large chunks of succulent lamb...

And the Maryland Blue Crab Tartine with watermelon radish, arugula, hearts of palm and pesto on ciabatta...

Along with a glass of Murrieta's Well "The Whip" white blend ($10)… it paired nicely with the crab sandwich...

We were too stuffed a sample dessert so we called it a meal but we'll be back...
