Sunday Supper @ 12th Avenue Grill

Because we had the Monday off during the Martin Luther King holiday, we decided to sample the usual Sunday Supper at 12th Avenue Grill. 12th Ave Grill rotates the offerings every week - their fried chicken dinner is usually offered at least one Sunday every month - and dinner includes sides and dessert for a set price.

On the Sunday we visited, the main course was Asian BBQ Pork Loin...

With braised bok choy...

Ginger scallion black rice...

And pickled cucumbers and carrots (like namasu)…

Ending with a banana toffee cake...

Of course, whenever we visit 12th Ave Grill we always start with a round of cocktails including the Salsipuedes with mescal, roasted jalapeno, ancho chili liqueur, smoked Manoa honey and citrus... I admit that I didn't sip this cocktail lest I sweat the whole evening...

The Leather Soul with blended scotch, walnut liqueur Averna and Angostura...

The Puddle Jumper with barrel aged bourbon, Aperol, Nonino amaro and lemon juice...

And the Boulevardier with barrel aged bourbon, Carpano Antica and Camperi...

We also started with the Fried Brussel Sprouts...

The Batter Fried Avocado...

And the Truffled Ahi Tartare...

Of the six of us, of course the Mrs charts her own course with the the special pasta and gelato...

This coming Sunday's Supper sounds just as enticing with Niihau Lamb Schwarma with all the fixins' and baklava...
