Christmas Dinner 2022

 

Now that most of the restaurant world has reopened to the public, there's not very many options for take-out especially on Christmas Day. We could visit one of the many buffets offered during the holidays but Mom can't walk really far and refuses to use a wheelchair. Most restaurants also offer that Christmas classic, Prime Rib... and Mom doesn't care for red or even pink meat. She wants her beef done to the point that you can't retrieve any DNA from the creature. Nor does she care for any raw seafood. So I only found three establishments that offered take-out on the 25th. Zippy's which offered both a half and full turkey meal as well as Hawaiian food. Ige's Lunchwagon in Aiea offered a nice menu though it was meant to feed 10 to 15 people and there's only the three of us. Finally, Elena's offered two different take-out options and Mom left it up to Ms S so she opted for Filipino food.

Two pounds of Pancit...

Two pounds of Lechon Special...

One pound of Pork Guisantes...

One pound of Pork Adobo...

Two and one-quarter pounds of Sari Sari...

Two pounds of Squid Guisado...

Two pounds of Shrimp Sarciado...

And 10 scoops of white rice... (yes, I also took a picture of the rice)...

We enjoyed all of it though I gave Mom first choice of leftovers and she keep both the Pancit and Pork Adobo Fried Rice Omelette. Ms S's favorite was the Sari Sari and Shrimp Sarciado while I've always been a Lechon slut though the flavor of the Squid Guisado was very good. We also tried finishing the leftovers today for both breakfast and dinner but still have a little of the Squid Guisado as well as most of the Pork Adobo and Rice... which I will turn into Pork Adobo and Garlic Fried Rice tomorrow. And all of this for just $89.99 for essentially 6 to 7 meals...
