During the Summer Olympics in Paris, Artizen by MW created a French Bistro menu to commemorate the event. It originally was slated to last just over the course of the Olympics but because the response was so good, they offered the French Bistro menu throughout the month of August which looked like this ($45 for three courses)...
Ms C did sample the dinner mid-way through the month but they ran out of the Foie Gras on her first try so she wanted to re-visit it. And they did have the Hudson Valley Foie Gras with toast points, strawberry guava jam and candied macadamia nuts - the sweet-sour jam and crunchy nuts contrasted the rich foie gras...
Ms S selected the Nicoise Salad with confit ahi and the usual accoutrements of a great Nicoise salad...
While I channeled my inner runny-egg-slut with the Croque Madame...
We enjoyed everything with a bottle of 2022 Meiomi Pinot Noir which carried enough weight to pair with poultry or beef...
Ms S selected the Boeuf Bourguignon made with beef cheeks along with potatoes, carrots and peas...
While Ms C and I ordered the Coq au Vin made with Ludovico chicken leg quarters braised in red wine with potatoes, mushrooms and lardons... the lardons actually were two large pieces of succulent pork belly...
As usual, I let Ms S select both of our desserts which included the Profiterole...
And the Opera Cake (which Ms C also selected) which was almond cake slathered with Kona coffee buttercream and Valrhona chocolate ganache with milk chocolate crunch...
To conclude the evening, I sampled a Negroni - we initially thought only wine, beer or sake was offered at Artizen but they also had a limited cocktail menu...
So yes, it was another great meal so we'll be back again... Artizen's next themed prix fixe ($45) three course meal is the Carnival de Sabores featuring the cuisine of Mexico and Latin America between Sept 6th through 28th...
