Lunch at Fete

Since we stopped by Mille Fete, might as well also make reservations for lunch at Fete... which I did! We started with a round of cocktails with The Pink Perch for Ms S with coco Campari, Angeleno Amaro, OJ, egg whites and curry leaves which she enjoyed...
And the Miso You for me with reposado mezcal, ginger Brooklyn gin, sfumato, grapefruit, lime, agave-miso syrup and club soda... the miso gave a libation a savory, umami note...
We then moved on to a new appetizer, the Kanpachi Fritters with a harissa aioli and coriander powder... very tasty morsels and you could still taste the fish so it had minimal fillers...
Ms S then went back to dish she had several times, the Mountain View Pork Ragu with whey braised pork, tomato compote, house made ricotta and kale... it even is tasty the next day straight from the refrigerator...
While I had my standby... well, sort of... it used to be known as the Korean Bavette Steak. Now it's Tutu Mai'i's Korean Steak - on this day the cut was NY Strip... no complaints from me... and it's still served with the ginger scallion fried rice, Asian pear slaw and sunny side egg...
Since we were still celebrating Ms S' annual solar revolution, I let her order two desserts (acting like one was for me so she didn't look like an oinker) including Robynne's Cake, an ulu chocolate rum raisin cake with Manoa chocolate rum sauce and frozen kulolo (both the cake and the frozen kulolo are available for purchase at Mille Fete)...
And since mango season has started, the Mango Tarte...
Then I saw something on their aperitif list... not just regular Chartreuse but Chartreuse V.E.P. or Vieillissement Exceptionnellement Prolongé. Green Chartreuse that has been aged in oak casks until it reaches exceptional quality. Since 2019, the Carthusian monks who produce Chartreuse stated that they would limit production to 1.6 million bottles to concentrate on solitude and prayer. Therefore, the regular Chartreuse products are difficult to find and the VEP almost impossible... and if you do, it runs more than $500 for a 1 liter bottle. So I gladly paid the $21 for a 1 ounce sample...
So as long as Fete continues their lunch service, we'll be back...
