We started the evening with a bottle of Billiot Cuvee Laetitia... delicious Pinot Noir from the Grand Cru of Ambonnay...
For the starting dish, wild mushrooms in creme sauce in a puff pastry...
I brought an aged Burgundy, a Domaine Trapet Chambertin which was a nice pair since it had loads of mushroomy qualities...
The salad course was a little different than the traditional Salad Lyonnaise as local greens were used in place of frisee...
The 2021 Maxime Magnon Metisse Rose was perfect with the salad course...
The seafood course featured seared onaga with fish mousseline in a traditional crayfish sauce...
While the Chablis was better with the mousseline and crayfish sauce...
The saltier bits of the onaga was better served with a French white blend...
The last savory course of duck, sausage and flageolet beans...
Paired nicely with one of my favorite wines, a 2003 Noel Verset Cornas...
The dessert course which was like a cheese tarte with apples and coarse sugar...
Was sampled with a Birbet (no photo). Once again, Threadfin Bistro created a very delicious meal along with excellent service. We've already made reservations for their next special Sunday dinner at the end of the month featuring the wines of Fred Scherrer...
