Breakfast at Longhi's

We attended the Ultimate BYOB at Vino last night and since we're revving up the holiday season we assumed that there would be multiple sobriety checkpoints throughout the island (DUI roadblocks). Therefore we stayed overnight at the Hawaii Prince Hotel and cabbed it to/from Vino.

Since we rarely dine out for breakfast (usually doing cardio on the weekend mornings) we decided to try Longhi's breakfast. I ordered the Lobster Benedict, about a 1/2 to 2/3 cup of diced lobster meat under poached eggs and Hollandaise on toasted Italian baguettes. Though the meat was mainly leg meat, it still had a good lobster flavor. The baguette more than adequately sopped up the runny egg yolks though I also ordered a side of potatoes to help with the soppin'.

The Mrs ordered waffles - plain simply slathered with maple syrup (Longhi's gives you a choice of whipped cream, assorted berries and even French vanilla ice cream) and also ordered the eggs and ham. She was dissapointed with the size of her scrambles - it's only 2 eggs after all - but enjoyed her ham.

I usually partake in a breakfast beverage like a Mimosa or Kir Royale but was still recovering from the previous night's Ultimate BYOB at Vino so I simply had some English Breakfast tea.
