We had lunch again at Soul de Cuba right after Girl's Day dinner. Due to the abundance of vino the evening before, I didn't even recall any talk of lunch... good thing the Mrs reminded me (actually told me since I had no recollection of the original conversation). We started with a round of cocktails. I sampled the Dark & Stormy with Gosling's rum, ginger beer and lime juice.
The Mrs yearned for the Capirinha - a perfect version with a touch of honey instead of the usual muddled lime and sugar.
While C had the Cafe Social with Cuban coffee, amarula cream, Kahlua and milk.
We then sampled the Sampler Platter with Papa Rellena (potato croquette stuffed with spiced ground beef), Crab Cake and Plantanitos
We then progressed to the Lechon Omelet (that the Mrs bypassed on our 1st two visits) which included 3 slices of Cuban toast (spread with butter and honey)
The Pollo Frito en Mojo Y Miel or fried chicken breast with caramelized onions on black bean rice (like a Cuban style chicken katsu)
The Lechon Asado (tried it already, it's a killer and filling dish)
And the Fricase de Pollo or marinated chicken breast with olives, onions and Mediterranean spices (according to the menu, a staff favorite - tender and just the right amount of spices)
Since it was Girl's Day just 1 day removed, I had to treat the "girls" to a round of Krug Rose (pink bubbly just for the girls)
And of course, since we still haven't tried all of the dishes we want to sample, we'll be back...
