At the last minute, we decided to attend the last Ultimate BYOB at Vino for 2012. It was a great last BYOB as the K's, the I's and Ms K were all in attendance. We even got to share wines with the resident Vino punster, Mr I. V started with a bottle of Camille Saves Champagne.
We then also uncorked a 2007 J. Lassalle Cuvee Angeline 1er Cru
And a Le Stelle Bryter North Coast California Brut

For the Fresh Oyster "on the half shell" with Sherry mignonette, chili pepper water and Thai basil
Those with shellfish allergies had the Kabocha Ravioli
For the next course we uncorked a 1995 Verget Chablis 1er Cru Montee de Tonnerre
And a 2005 Talbott Diamond T Estate Cuvee Audrey Chardonnay
For the Home-made Linguine with marinated grilled prawns, lobster sauce and basil
A gaggle of bottles were then uncorked for course number three including a 2007 Westwood Syrah
A 2005 Marcel Juge Cornas
A 2008 River-Marie Pinot Noir
A 2004 Montesodi Castello di Nipozzano Chianti Ruffina
And a 1995 Francois Jobard Mersault-Poruzot
For the Chicken and Spinach Ravioli with fresh Ali'i mushrooms and baby kale
The final set of entree wines included a 1999 Tom Eddy Petit Verdot (in an etched bottle)
A 2006 Brewer-Clifton Mount Carmel Pinot Noir
And a 2001 Chateau Montrose
For the Sous Vide of Stuffed Lamb with Hamakua mushrooms, ricotta gnocchi and Port wine-truffle demi
We unleashed a hodge-podge of wines for dessert including a 2007 Palmaz Florencia Muscat Canelli
A 1989 J.C. Pichot Moelleux Domaine Le Peu de la Moriette
And a 1997 Karthauserhofberg Spatlese from magnum (provided by Chuck)
For the Pineapple Panna Cotta with lilikoi coulis and mango gelato
Along with a 1998 Taittinger Brut, parking lot Krug and more J. Lassalle Champagne.
Since this was the last time I would see some of the Vino regulars, I also brought a bottle of Ichinokura Daiginjo Shozanten sake as an early New Year's Eve toast.
Another great meal to round out the year at Vino though it's not like we won't be back in due time. We already placed our reservations for a wine tasting with grower James Ontiveros on Thursday.
