We dropped into Vino as a spur-of-the-moment thing last week. We didn't really plan on going out but decided to drop in to see what specials were offered. Chef Keith did a Ahi Poke on truffled cauliflower puree topped with hearts of palm and micro greens with a olive tapenade and green onion pesto. Killer! So good we ordered a 2nd plate.
We also sampled the Soft Shell Crab with caper berries and lemon butter sauce
With a 2008 August Kesseler Spatburgunder (Pinot Noir) from the Rheingau. I love these German Pinot Noirs - very perfumy on the nose with great balance and palate flow.
The Mrs also needed another past fix so she ordered the Linguine with Italian Sausage
While I simply had the salumi and cheese platter
With some 2010 Maxime Magnon la Demarrante from the Languedoc, a blend of Carignon and Cinsault... and great with the cheese and salumi.
K didn't have much of an appetite and just sampled the Broccollini
And Gnocchi ala Romana or baked polenta, butter and cheese
We did sample some of the Mrs' chocolates
As well as the Cannoli with chocolate cream and strawberries
And as usual, we'll be back again in the near future...
