Chuck hosted a simple Taste of Tuscany with three different wines from the 1995 vintage at Vino last week. It included two wines from one of his favorite Chianti producers; Felsina Berardenga and a Brunello from Salvioni.
I enjoyed all three but my favorite was the single vineyard "Rancia" from Felsina closely followed by the Savioni Brunello.
Right after the tasting concluded, we were served our order of the Pan Seared Scamorza Cheese
Of course since it was a tasting night, the Vintage NY Strip was on special for $15 so I placed my order before the tasting started.
The Mrs opted for the Home Made Linguine with Fennel Sausage
And we also enjoyed a little vino, the first bottle being E's 2000 Quintarelli Ca del Merlo
Followed by my 1995 Paolo Scavino Bric del Fiasc Barolo
C stopped by our table to offer a cheese platter and some of his 1997 Castello Banfi Excelsus - he said that he enjoyed this bottle with cheese on his last trip to Italy so much, he had to recreate the experience for us. Mahalo C!
I then finished the evening with a little bubbly and a Negroni.
While the Mrs enjoyed her Red Velvet Cake
And chocolates provided by the K's.
Another great Thursday night tasting at Vino!
