Late Lunch @ Hank's Haute Dogs

It was a surprise that Hank also had a special dish for Restaurant Week - his Bratwurst Francais or bratwurst with sautéed mushrooms, melted cheese and truffled mustard with Truffled Cheese Fries. Okay! We're there!... Of course, we didn't anticipate the "Touch of Salt" craft fair right next door... Luckily, we snagged a table before moving on to the Highway Inn. And since Brats were on the menu, you need some brewskies like Hawai'i Nui Brewing's Southern Cross, a Belgian styled double red ale.

Along with Rogue's Morimoto Hazelnut Signature Ale with mocha, cocoa and a pleasing slightly bitter finish.

Though the Mrs preferred her Hornsby's Hard Crisp Cider.

With a neighboring food truck's (from the Touch of Salt event) Sweet and Sour Meatballs.

For the piece de resistance, The Bratwurst Francais! As juicy as a sausage gets with a nice balance of earthy (mushrooms), rich (cheese) and tangy (truffled mustard).

We also had that ubiquitous commercial brew, Newcastle Brown Ale... no bollocks!

And don't forget the Truffled Cheese Fries!

Since it was a Saturday, I also had to sample Hank's Lobster Dog. What can I say... winner, winner, lobster dog dinner!

But that didn't conclude Restaurant Week... we met later for some tapas...
