The Mrs decided to pick up dinner after work yesterday at the weekly Wednesday Blaisdell Farmer's Market. She couldn't resist a banh mi from The Pig and the Lady so she selected the Chicken Banh Mi.
Lots of herbal flavors goin' on with tender morsels of chicken. For moi, she selected Soul Patrol's Car'lina Pulled Pork Adobo sandwich topped with slaw...
You know that sayin' "don't eat anything bigger than your head"... and I have a pretty big head... rich porky goodness balanced with the vinegar based sauce and the cole slaw.
I uncorked a 2006 R Wines Chateau Chateau Grenache which more than held up to the sandwich with raisin, red fruit and a touch of eucalyptus on the nose, a rich mouth feel and long finish.
A great mid-week surprise meal thanks to the Mrs!
