Cocktail Compounding... Again...

It is part of the profession and I am a highly trained professional you know, to compound medications... including over-the-counter medications... well, maybe not medications but "therapeutic" liquids which if you stretch the imagination also include alcoholic liquids... or cocktails. And since The Good Table is this Thursday, once again at Hank's Haute Dogs, I needed to come up with a new cocktail. Since Hank themed this year's dinner an Italian Extravaganza, my cocktail had to be Italian in nature... or at least sound Italian.

So here's my Puglian Sunset

Start with Il Tramonto Limoncello

Add Thatcher's Blood Orange liqueur

And some Thyme Syrup

Then hit it with Q Tonic

And pour on the rocks

So why Puglian Sunset? Well, limoncello is made in Southern Italy including Puglia and the blood orange liqueur does give it an orangish tinge not unlike the sky during sunset... and if it was a good day, days end is a little bittersweet like this drink. Plus since Chef Donato is from Puglia, I thought he'd get a kick out of the name and he is making the pasta course on Thursday. Chin chin!
