Dinner @ the K's




We had a great dinner hosted by the K's this past weekend. This time I had to promise E that I wouldn't make any food so I begrudgingly obliged... but it wasn't easy. We were allowed to bring a bottle or two so we started with some bubbly including my magnum of 2009 Huet Petillant...


Along with an H. Goutorbe Cuvee Prestige...


The sit down menu looked like this starting with a refreshing cold soup

Chilled Cucumber Soup with yogurt and fresh mint


Moving on to a creation from E's new sous vide cooker - his perfectly sous vide egg... With the two starters we poured a Kermit Lynch Grangia


And a 2005 Neyers Carneros District Chardonnay...

For E's risotto styled pasta, I uncorked a recent acquisition, a 2013 Vermillion produced by Helen Keplinger which is a red Rhone varietal based wine dominated by Grenache. S uncorked a Pinot Noir though i forgot to get a picture of the label.

And with the local steak, I uncorked a 2009 Kenzo Rindo which is your typical Bordeaux blend. Smoooooth as all _ell! the K's also uncorked a 2009 Blind Justice... though I know there was also a Mercury Head and another Cab on the table at the same time...

Dinner concluded with a superlative chocolate mousse...

Another great dinner with good friends and new friends! And this was much needed especially since the Mrs and I have been through quite a lot the past 2 months... the meal table does recharge the batteries...
