Negroni Week, Day 3

Time for the slightly avant garde renditions of the classic Negroni. Almost to the point where these libations can be mistaken for "fu-fu" "girly" libations. But one sip with that bracing bitterness and you know it's a "real" cocktail.

This libation substitutes the bitter and bracing Campari for the amaro, Gran Classico... it was created by Bar Manager Jeff Faile while he held residence at Penn Quarter's Fiola

 Jeff Faile's Negroni Classico

1 and 1/2 ounces Plymouth Gin
1 ounce Gran Classico
1 ounce Dolin Rouge Vermouth
Garnish: Orange slice
Combine gin, Gran Classico, and Dolin Rouge in an Old Fashioned glass filled with ice. Stir to until chilled, about 10 seconds. Garnish with orange slice and serve immediately.
