Dinner @ the K's

We recently had a potluck dinner at the K's, partly because they hardly go out taking care of family, partly because food and wine is ALWAYS a good thing be it at a restaurant or a home. E told me I could make as many dishes that I wanted... but I could only bring four into the house...

We first started with some cocktails, an Empress 1908 gin and tonic just so we could watch it turn from cobalt blue to lavendar...

Along with a Negroni Rose with rose wine, rose bubbly, Cocchi rose, Campari and grapefruit bitters... whoops! I actually forgot to bring the bitters with me...

We then moved on to the appetizers including oysters on the half shell...

Mixed sashimi with ahi, hamachi and miso cured salmon...

Smoked fish on cucumber pickles...

Rosemary sourdough focaccia with kamaboko spread and soft goat cheese...

And Ranch oyster crackers...

Along with a bunch of wines including a 2003 Fritz Haag Brauneberger Juffer-Sonnenuhr Spatlese...

For the broccoli sald...

Tomato salad...

With Lamb meatballs on yogurt sauce...

And Asian spiced Berkshire pork shanks...

Paired with Asian inspired rice dressing...

And corn pudding...

We had several more wines but I neglected get photos of the rest of the wines... But in the end, it was a totally enjoyable evening regardless of what was on the table as the most important thing was what was on the chairs...
