Lunch @ FISH Honolulu

After gettin' some requisite grub from Butcher and Bird and local chocolates from Lonohana Estates Chocolate, we needed some sustenance so the Mrs chose Fish Honolulu. Normally I don't partake in a midday meal unless the establishment is air-conditioned... however, on this afternoon, there was a nice breeze blowin' and FISH Honolulu does offer oysters on the half shell...

And as usual we started we cocktails, the Lush Lychee with Skyy vodka, elderflower, lychee, lemon and yuzu for the Mrs...

And a For Starters with Aviation gin, Aperol, Prosecco and fresh grapefruit for me...

Some complimentary shrimp chips...

And my oysters...

The selection included Chelsea Gem, Chelsea Ruby and Chelsea Olympia all from Puget Sound and "small" Bonita Beach also from Puget Sound... Yes, that humungazoid oyster is the "small" Bonita Beach oyster...

They all were briny and rich and not too creamy... I'd go back for a dozen of each...

The Mrs tried the Ahi Nicoise Salad...

While I sampled the Lobster Roll... a nice sandwich with the minimum amount of fresh lobster and the Béarnaise complemented but didn't overwhelm the lobster with that sweet, licorice flavor of tarragon but what made the dish were the fries... not shoestring, not steakcut, not wedges but like little surfboards of fried potato goodness...

I'd go back just for a dozen oysters (or two dozen) along with a plateful of those fries...
