Pub Crawl... sorta

A couple of weeks ago, the Mrs just needed a return visit to Habitant, you know, the in Nordstrom with the perfect marketing... place a bar on the 2nd floor adjacent to the escalators so that every shopper riding the escalator sees those bottles of liquor... yes, those bottles face both those in the bar and also those riding the escalators.

So we made a stop specifically at Habitant just so the Mrs could sample a cocktail. She started with the Claudette with Aviation gin, St Germain liqueur, fresh lemon juice, thyme and soda... it was a very refreshing libation...

While I sampled The Wallin with Sombra mezcal, Dewar's scotch, falernum, Cynar and chocolate bitters... smoky and a touch of bitterness...

We munched on the Roasted Mushroom Bruschetta - a very good starter though the toppin's kept fallin' off with every bite...

I also sampled the special Lobster Salad Baguette with frites...

While the Mrs sampled the Wild Salmon with Roasted Vegetables and Farro... while the salmon was a wee bit overcooked (slightly dry), the veggies with capers and cauliflower was the highlight of dish... I would have ordered just the veggies as a side dish...

The Mrs' 2nd round was the Bohemian Sidecar with Courvoisier cognac, Grand Marnier, lemon juice, simple syrup, fig jam and cinnamon... just enough fig and cinnamon to keep you goin' back for another sip...

While I sampled the Absinthe-Minded with Templeton rye, St George absinthe, Hendrick's gin and Luxardo cherry syrup... almost but not exactly like a Sazerac...

Of course the Mrs wasn't done yet so we then headed to Mariposa... which now id open for Happy Hour between 3pm and 5pm (they used to close between lunch and dinner service)...

The Mrs ordered the Garden Party Margarita with Herradura reposado, Cointreau, lime, melon liqueur, vanilla and basil... think high end margarita befitting Neiman Marcus...

While I sampled the Island Sparkling Cocktail with Malibu Spiced rum, honey syrup, lime, orange bitters and sparkling wine... a true refresher...

I simply knoshed on the Chef's Charcuterie Board... and a glass of Vietti nebbiolo...

While the Mrs opted for the Petite Loco Moco with wagyu beef and mushroom gravy... quite a Happy Hour deal at $8...

We rounded out our "Pub Crawl" with a Aperol Passion Fruit Spritz for the Mrs...

And a Holding on to Summer with Belvedere grapefruit vodka, St Germain liqueur and lemon sour basil for me...

With a last order of Hurricane Fries...

Now time to go home for a long nap...
