Lunch @ Brick Fire Tavern

We recently celebrated a birthday at Brick Fire Tavern in Kaimuki. It's the only VPN certified pizzeria in Hawaii started by Matthew Resich and his late fiance Inthira Marks in 2016. They originally were located in Chinatown just past Fete (one of our other favorite eateries) and were about to expand to a 2nd location in Kaimuki. However, the pandemic occurred so they moved the original BFT to the Kaimuki location and repurposed the original spot to Pizza Mamo serving traditional New York and Detroit style pies. We started with a round of cocktails with the birthday girl selecting a Bloody Mary...
While Ms S chose the When Pigs Fly with Strega, gin, peach, lime and soda... it was a very refreshing libation...
And since we were still in the midst of Negroni Week, I selected the Copacabana with agricole rum, Campari, lemon, lychee ginger and lemon bitters...
We then progressed to the House Caesar - I loved the Parmesan breadcrumb topping...
Then enjoyed (family style) the Sal's Bolognese with meatball on Onda Pappardelle...
The Veggie Monster v3...
And the special Satriale with shaved Brussel sprouts and pancetta...
And of course I had a 2nd libation, the Fredo's Folly with Fernet Branca, Averna, sweet vermouth and cacao Angostura bitters...
We were too full for dessert - we have yet to sample the Nutella Calzone - but our servers brought the birthday girl a scoop of guava sorbet...
We've always enjoyed great food, service and delicious cocktails at Brick Fire Tavern so yes, we'll be back...
