Lunch @ Fete

Before P & S returned to the Bay Area, we had to have one more meal with them so we selected Fete - it was their first time sampling Chef Mai'i's cuisine. We started with a round of cocktails with the Negreeni for P and myself with Brooklyn gin, pandan and pineapple infused Luxardo, Dolin Blanc and lime...
While S had the Welcome Lei with jasmine infused okolehao ti moonshine, Kohana rum, rose wine, orange flower water and lime and garnished with an edible pickled orchid...
And Ms S sampled the Sushi Collins with honeydew infused pisco, sake, lychee-wasabi shrub, fish sauce, yuzu syrup, lemon juice and cucumber bitters... and no, the fish sauce didn't make it funky, it just imparted umami to the cocktail...
We then started with the Trio of Spreads including a red pepper Muhamarra, smoky baba ghanoush and ricotta...
As well as an order of frites...
We then moved on to the main courses including the Shichimi Crusted Ahi Tataki for S...
The Twice-Fried Ludovico Chicken for P...
The Pork Ragu and Rigatoni special for Ms S...
And I couldn't help it... I had to order the Korean Bavette once again as it's one of my favorite beef dishes on the island...
We still had room for dessert so we sampled the Bombolini or lilikoi curd stuffed donut with chocolate sauce...
And the Frozen Kulolo - while it wasn't life changing, it still was very good...
I think P & S enjoyed their meals at Fete... there IS a very good reason why Chef Mai'i won a James Beard award last year so yes, we'll be back...
