Thansgiving Take-Out from Side Street Inn

Yes, this post is a little dated but it was this past Thanksgiving, not from Thanksgiving long ago. Because Mom doesn't like to go to restaurants anymore, we just do take-out on the holidays. She enjoyed last year's take-out from Elena's but only wanted to keep the fried rice omelette and pancit and told us to take home the rest... okay, she kept the two best dishes so I decided not to go the Elena's route again.

She's also getting a little picky about her foods... "too much fat", "too salty", "not enough salt", etc... so I figured Side Street Inn was a good choice as we did take-out from them a couple of years ago...

So I decided on several savory dishes and a dessert but since it was for Thanksgiving and Ms S needs her turkey fix, also selected one Thanksgiving turkey plate for her...
We sampled the Crispy Pork Belly with Mustard Sauce... I think Adela's still makes the best pork belly (lechon)...
The Garlic Chicken...
And we had to have the Fried Rice...
And for dessert, their Chocolate Peanut Butter Crunch... I prefer this "Crunch" dessert over The Alley's or Diamond Head Grill's version...
Main question? Did Mom like the meal? Somewhat. She kept saying that Mitsu-ken's garlic chicken was better and she would like to have had theirs so I had to keep repeating that Mitsu-ken wasn't open on Thanksgiving... Oh well... maybe just the fried rice, misoyaki chicken and kim chi yakisoba next time...
