Starting off Negroni Week 2024, we have the Irish Negroni which swaps an Irish whisky for gin and I also swapped the Campari with Meletti 1870 Bitter which has more savory spices (cinnamon and clove) that complement the darker whisky. When creating cocktails, I try not to use high-end liquor - I feel Bushmills in the $20 range does the same as Red Breast in the $80 range...

1oz Irish whisky
1oz red herbal apperitif
1oz red vermouth
Stir over ice then strain into a rocks glass and garnish with an orange peel
